Teresa Bruno

Head of Content and Education
Across all of her endeavors, Teresa is known as the “go-to” person to get things done. She has empowered organizations for the underserved to make the most of their limited resources and operating budgets. Her strength is in bringing together stakeholders to find common goals for success, especially in the area of public engagement, events, and development. She has worked with established public and educational institutions, charter and religious educational organizations, and boards and foundations, such as New Orleans and NYC Public Schools, CUNY, SUNY, Touro College, New Visions for Public Schools & Tulane University. Teresa’s management and consulting roles and development of blended online teacher training has reached tens of thousands of children through their educators. Teresa applies her 15 years of experience in education and nonprofits in a variety of settings. She leads digital and in-person presentations internationally, develops curriculum & assessment, and coaches & consults with teachers & school leaders to help them meet their students’ needs, while teaching graduate coursework in linguistics and literacy. She found her way to working with linguistically diverse and underserved communities as an undergraduate at Tulane University, where she first put her language skills to use after Hurricane Katrina teaching French. She studied linguistics and education, receiving a fellowship at NYU to complete a dual Master’s in Multilingual Multicultural Studies. Teresa leveraged her expertise and tenure in urban teaching, here and abroad, and post-graduate studies at NYU and Columbia to become the teacher educator and organization leader she is today. She was elected in 2018 to the New York State TESOL Executive Board and is currently serving as VP Finance. In Summer 2019, she took a lifestyle leap and relocated with her family to Denver, Colorado. She is looking forward to continuing her work in the West, with a new lens on entrepreneurship and technology.
